China’s crude coal production rose to 3.05 billion tons in eight months, from January to last August, up 3.4 percent year-on-year.
Official data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, according to the Chinese agency “Xinhua” showed China’s production of raw coal rose 2 percent year-on-year last August to 380 million tons.
The authority explained that the growth in production was 1.9 percentage points higher than last July, noting that China imported 44.33 million tons of coal last month, an increase of 50.5 percent from the same period last year.
According to the Chinese news agency “Xinhua”, the growth in imports of raw coal was 16.7 percentage points lower than in July.
In addition, China’s natural gas production recorded stable growth last August, rising to 18.1 billion cubic meters, up 6.3 percent from a year earlier.
According to data released by the National Statistics Authority, the country imported 10.86 million tons of natural gas last month, up 22.7 percent year-on-year.
The growth was 3.8 percentage points higher than last July.
During the period from January to August this year, China’s natural gas production increased 5.7 percent year-on-year to 152.1 billion cubic meters.
