Seven domestic and foreign car manufacturers in South Korea will voluntarily recall about 136 thousand vehicles due to manufacturing defects, South Korea’s transport ministry announced Thursday.
The Ministry of Lands, Infrastructure and Transport stated that Kia would recall 81,608 Sorrento Hybrid units due to defective parts in the front seatbelt as well as 28,858 units of two models, including Sorrento, to repair the turn signal arm.
Hyundai Motor will recall 11,148 “G90” units due to defective parts in the front seatbelt and 18 “Xiant” units due to a defect in the air tank brake hose.
Mercedes-Benz Korea will also recall 10674 units of 22 models, including E350 4 Matic, due to defective parts of the fuel pump.
Ford Korea Sales and Services will recall 1843 MKC vehicles due to battery sensor design errors and 312 Ranger Wildtrack units due to safety lock indicator errors.
The Jaguar Land Rover Korea will recall 1068 vehicles from six models due to the poor operation of the headlights, while Nissan Korea will recall 770 LIV units due to an error in the vehicle’s control software.
BMW Korea will recall 218 units of two models, one 740Ay, for non-compliance with safety standards by emergency flashing lights, as well as 91 IX1 X Drive 30 vehicles for poor assembly of the rotation axle.
