An Emirati delegation visited Karachi, Pakistan, during which he met with His Excellency Faisal Sabzwari, Minister of Maritime Navigation of the Federal Government of Pakistan.
The delegation was headed by Captain Mohammed Juma Al Shamsi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, accompanied by a number of senior officials. The Abu Dhabi Port Group is a leading global driver of trade, industry and logistics, and through the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with the Pakistan Port Fund seeks to expand the regional connectivity network and drive Pakistan’s economic growth, allowing for the strengthening of relations between the two parties and making every effort to implement development, expansion and digitization projects in the Pakistan port of Karachi.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Abu Dhabi Port Group and the Karachi Port Fund reflects the shared vision of both parties to drive sustainable growth, promote trade diversification and strengthen bilateral relations between the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan. Cooperation between the parties includes the implementation of a wide range of initiatives and projects aimed at developing port infrastructure, improving operational efficiency and adopting digitization solutions. The Group will also use its technical expertise to conduct feasibility studies and analyses that ensure the business success of this project.
Captain Mohammed Juma Al Shamsi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, said: “We will be working to use the Abu Dhabi Ports Group’s extensive expertise to transform the container terminal at Karachi Port into a major centre for trans-shipment, import and export services.
