China and Australia signed 11 deals for business and cooperative projects, with a total value of 10.3 billion yuan, about US $1.5 billion, between trading companies in the two countries.
The projects cover areas such as resources, food and medicine, according to media reports by the Guangxi Committee of the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
The deals were signed on Thursday at the Trade and Investment Fair of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, which was held in Australia and the Guangxi Autonomous Region of China’s South Chuang Nationality to promote trade and investment between China and Australia.
China and Australia are members of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, the world’s largest free trade agreement, which also includes the 10 members of the Association of Southeast Asian States (ASEAN), Japan, South Korea and New Zealand, and entered into force on January 1, 2022.
