The European Union and Tajikistan held their first full round of negotiations in Dushanbe to develop a new comprehensive framework for strengthening bilateral relations.
A press release published by the European Union’s External Action Service, via its official website hours ago, stated that negotiations for a strengthened partnership and cooperation agreement (EPCA) with Tajikistan represented an important milestone in the European Union’s relations with Dushanbe, to expand mutual cooperation in the areas of political cooperation, trade and key economic sectors, as well as governance, law enforcement and human rights.
The statement said the future agreement will replace the current partnership and cooperation agreement, and bilateral discussions on EPCA negotiations began in February 2023.
Tajikistan’s cooperation with the European Union has begun to intensify over the past period in order to promote trade and the agreements that strengthen it.
