Japan’s trade balance deficit over the past May reached 1.372 billion yen ($9.71 billion) on Thursday.
Analysts were expecting the deficit to reach 1331.9 billion yen, compared with a deficit of 432.3 billion yen last April.
Japan’s exports last month increased by 0.6% to 7,292.00 billion yen, while analysts were expecting them to decline by 0.8% after increasing by 2.6% over the previous month.
Imports increased by 9.9% annually to Yen1,8665,800 billion, while analysts expected them to decline by 10.3% after falling by 2.3% over the previous month.
