Saudi Arabia’s energy minister has proposed cooperation in hydrogen energy to the government and South Korean companies, according to Yonhap.
The Korean Ministry of Lands, Infrastructure and Transport said that its minister Won He-ryong, who leads the South Korean delegation on a visit to Saudi Arabia, met with Saudi Minister of Energy Abdulaziz bin Salman and Minister of Municipal and Village Affairs and Housing Majid al-Haqil to discuss cooperation in infrastructure and new industry.
During the meeting, the Saudi Minister of Energy said he hoped for cooperation between the two countries in the field of hydrogen. He suggested that practical agendas be discovered through the joint holding of workshops and conferences with the participation of their companies.
In turn, Minister Won said that he would seek to establish a stable cooperation structure through discussions with relevant ministries such as the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman expressed interest in the possible use of AI technology in the field of energy and proposed the establishment of a channel of communication between the two countries.
The Saudi side also requested the participation of Korean companies in the Citiscape Global event, held in Riyadh from 10 to 13 September, the world’s largest real estate industry exhibition and conference.
On the other hand, the Korean company “De Yong Chavi” signed with Saudi Arabia’s company “iChrage” a memorandum of understanding to expand the electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
