WeChat reported that the American technology giant Apple has created an online store on its social networking platform, and this will further expand the US company’s retail channels to become in the second place of the world’s largest economy.
WeChat is one of the leading applications in China and besides being for correspondence, it provides e-commerce and payment service, as well as live streaming.
This means that the user will be able to purchase any product from Apple, such as iPhones, iPads and magc devices through the store.
When ordering the product, they will receive a free shipping service, and if a fast shipping request is submitted, the product will arrive within 3 hours only with payment for shipping, and they can also enjoy the hardware replacement service.
This step from Apple came at a time when the Chinese are increasingly turning to social media platforms, such as WeChat and Bytedance’s Douyin; in order to shop through the Indian site gadgets 360.
According to Reuters, Apple already has a store on the Alibaba platform, as well as a JD.com its subsidiary, which ranks as the second largest department store in China.
Although Apple’s sales in China declined by 5% during the first quarter of this year, it still has the largest share in the Chinese market, with its sales reaching 20% of total smartphone sales within China.
