Japanese government data showed an increase in Kuwaiti crude oil exports to Japan for the seventh consecutive month in June by 21.1%, compared to the corresponding period last year, reaching 6.89 million barrels (230 thousand barrels per day).
The Japanese natural resources and Energy Agency said in a preliminary report that Kuwait, as the third largest oil supplier to Japan, exported last June 10.1% of Japan’s total crude oil imports compared to 8.3% during the same period last year, according to the Kuwaiti newspaper “Al-Rai”.
Last July, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida visited the countries of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar and witnessed talks on securing stable oil supplies to Japan as well as strengthening economic relations with the Gulf countries.
