Kazakh Minister of Agriculture yerbol karachukeyev said that the country has harvested about 2.8 million tons of grain this season with an average yield of 1.15 tons/ha, on an area of 2.4 million hectares.
Karachukaev explained during the Government Meeting on Tuesday that the total area harvested from agricultural crops in Kazakhstan amounted to 24 million hectares this whole year, of which 17.4 million hectares are for cereals.
The Kazakh Minister of Agriculture noted that due to the low water supply from Kyrgyzstan, about 7.8 thousand hectares of land in the zambil region were affected, including 1.2 thousand hectares of sugar beet crops.
The total capacity of silos in Kazakhstan is about 29.9 million tons, which is enough to store the expected harvest, taking into account the carried-over inventory from previous years.
