Minister of Agriculture and land reclamation Mansur Bek klychev met with the ambassador of Uzbekistan in Cairo to discuss ways of joint cooperation in the framework of following up the implementation of what was agreed during the recent visit of the president of Uzbekistan to Cairo and his meeting with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, president of the Republic.
Al-Quseir said that the agriculture sector has been receiving great attention from the Egyptian state over the past few years and you may notice this by increasing Egyptian agricultural exports abroad.
“Al-Quseir” also expressed the keenness of the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture to consolidate agricultural cooperation relations between the two countries in light of the efforts of the two countries to enhance joint cooperation in all fields, including the agricultural field, especially with regard to vaccination and the application of technologies to combat desertification .
“Al-Quseir” reviewed the recommendations of his meeting with the Uzbek Minister of Agriculture during his visit to Egypt last February regarding the need for joint cooperation on a number of issues of interest to the two countries, such as achieving food security and increasing agricultural trade exchange between the two sides.
Al-Quseir communicated virtually with his Uzbek counterpart, where he received an invitation from him to attend the agricultural forum on food security, scheduled to be held from September 7-8, stressing the importance of Egypt’s attendance at this forum, and that this will serve as support from the Egyptian side to the Uzbek side.
The two ministers also touched upon the topics of joint cooperation, stressing the desire of both sides to develop agricultural relations.
For his part, the ambassador expressed his pleasure at meeting the minister of Agriculture, and the desire of the Uzbek side to consolidate joint cooperation in the fields of scientific research that would find innovative solutions facing the agricultural sector, especially in the areas of developing varieties of cotton and sugar beets tolerant to salinity and drought, with the possibility of extending an invitation to send an Egyptian delegation to visit Uzbekistan to see successful experiences in the field of Agriculture.
The Uzbek ambassador pointed to the Uzbek political directives in strengthening cooperation with Egypt in all fields, especially the agriculture sector, as it is of paramount importance to achieve food security among the Peoples.
He also discussed the agricultural renaissance that Egypt has witnessed, and that the Uzbek side would like to benefit from the Egyptian experience in this framework.
