Pakistan’s interim minister of national heritage and Culture Syed Jamal Shah stated that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a project that contributes to the economic development of Pakistan.
This was stated by Shah during his visit to window on China, a Chinese Cultural Center, set up in Peshawar, the capital of the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of the country.
Shah said that the Pakistani leadership has given clear instructions that the pace of work on the corridor should be accelerated so that ongoing projects can be completed and so that investors from all over the world can come to invest in Pakistan.
Referring to the recently produced film “pateh girl”, which is the first major co-production between Pakistani and Chinese producers, Shah announced that it will be released soon in Pakistan.
Shah, a co-producer of this film, said that Pakistan’s partnership with China in this area can play an important role in reviving the film industry in this South Asian country.
“The Pakistani film industry needs a lot of support, and the assistance provided by China is of great value, especially given the emergence of China as one of the largest film markets in the world,”the minister said.
The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, which was launched in 2013 and is a pilot project under the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by China, is a corridor connecting the port of Gwadar in southwestern Pakistan and Kashgar in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of northwestern China, focusing on cooperation in the fields of energy, transport and industry.
