On August 30, bitcoin (BTC) achieved another milestone, as the number of addresses of bitcoin wallets increased to over 48 million, which is an all-time high.
Data from the blockchain analytics platform, IntoTheBlock shows that the total addresses containing BTC reached 48 million on August 30, 2023.
This historic achievement confirms the growing adoption and widespread interest in BTC as a decentralized digital asset.
In general, the rise in addresses of wallets located on the network, reflects the growing user base.
According to the information, users created 5.61 million new BTC wallets in 2023.
By comparison, only 3.62 million BTC wallet addresses were created in 2022. This means that with 4 months left, the rate of new users of bitcoin has increased by 55% from last year
The growing number of bitcoin wallet addresses is in line with their increasing prevalence and acceptance of digital currencies as an alternative asset class and means of payment.
