Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi said at a press conference with his Japanese counterpart on Thursday that the Gulf Cooperation Council countries will resume talks on a free trade agreement with Japan.
The move comes as part of a new effort between the six GCC countries and Tokyo to strengthen economic, trade and political ties following Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida’s visit to the Gulf region in July.
This, no doubt, if realized in the near future, will have direct positive economic effects on both sides,”he said.
