The value of 100 leading Chinese brands exceeded a trillion dollars for the third consecutive year this year, according to the “brands for 2023” report of the top 100 Chinese brands issued by the international market research company “Kantar”.
The report published yesterday said that the total value of the top 100 Chinese brands reached 1.01 trillion dollars this year, and Tencent came in first place with a brand value of 144.11 billion dollars.
According to the Chinese news agency Xinhua,” the internet giant Alibaba and Guizhou Mutai came in second and third place with a brand value of 90.19 billion dollars and 88.43 billion dollars, respectively.
The brands of the clothing and automotive sectors, with a total value of 175.89 billion dollars, contributed the most to the total value of China’s 100 brands, as the clothing sector saw a massive 327 percent year-on-year increase in the value of brands last year, according to the report.
In terms of calculations, the brand value is the financial value multiplied by the brand contribution of each company among the top 100 in the ranking.
In a related context, a report issued by the China Association of Public Enterprises said that the number of listed companies specialized in the high-end manufacturing sector in China exceeded 2021 companies amid policy support, structural transformation and modernization of Chinese industries.
The data of the report shows that the registered figure represents 57% of all manufacturing companies listed on the “A”stock list.
The semiconductor manufacturing and high-end machinery industries have experienced strong development, and the wind power, photovoltaic, energy storage and electrification sectors of transportation equipment are experiencing a rapid development period in the country.
In 2022, the total revenue of China’s listed high-end manufacturing enterprises reached 13.16 trillion yuan (about 1.82 trillion dollars), a compound growth rate of 14.97 percent over the past five years.
The report shows that the net profit of these companies reached 875.08 billion yuan last year, a compound growth rate of 25.52 percent in the past five years.
