Natural gas production in China increased last August
China’s Xinhua news agency, citing data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, said China produced 18.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas last month, up 6.3 percent from a year earlier.
The agency noted that China imported 10.86 million tons of natural gas last month, an increase of 22.7 percent year-on-year, while the growth was 3.8 percentage points higher than in July.
The data showed that during the period from January to August this year, China’s natural gas production increased by 5.7 percent year-on-year to 152.1 billion cubic meters.
Chinese official data revealed that China’s crude coal production reached 3.05 billion tons, an increase of 3.4 percent year-on-year in the first eight months of this year.
Official data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed China’s crude coal production rose by 2 percent year-on-year in August to 380 million tons.
