Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Finance announced that 17 tons and 303 kilograms of gold were mined from Kumtor last year, citing that almost all of it was sold.
“27 billion, 959.4 million soms in revenue were collected from the large gold mine last year, which is 2.7 percent more than in 2021,” according to Ministry of Finance data.
It was reported that the company “Kumtor Gold Company” made payments for social, environmental pollution, and water resource use.
Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Finance said that the obligations were also fulfilled for organizations such as the Issyk-Kul and Naryn Oblast Development Funds.
