Tajikistan’s inflation accelerated sharply in the consumer sector in August this year, after moderate growth in the previous months.
“During the past month, prices of consumer goods and services increased by 0.6%,” according to the Statistics Agency of Tajikistan.
Commodity prices rose by 0.3% in July of this year, and the average monthly increase during the previous seven months of this year was 0.37%.
The significant increase in inflation in August is primarily explained by the sharp rise in prices. Despite this, inflation remains at its lowest rate, at 3.2%.
The small increase in prices and tariffs for paid services in August (by 0.6%) was mainly due to the increase in the cost of sewing women’s dresses (by 5.9%) and men’s trousers (by 2.8%).
