Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan trade turnover was $2.5 billion in January–July 2023, a 0.4% decline from the same period in 2022. Exports contributed to 71.6% of total revenue, while imports accounted for 28.4%.
Wheat and meslin were the most important export categories, with deliveries totaling $511.9 million, a 22.1% increase over the previous year. Flat-rolled iron and steel, grain, mineral and chemical fertilizers, and fat and oil were other popular exports.
Clothing and clothing accessories accounted for the majority of Kazakhstan’s imports from Uzbekistan, followed by flat-rolled iron and steel, motor vehicle parts and accessories, refrigerators and freezers, and buses and other similar vehicles used to carry ten or more passengers, totaling $27.5 million.
This trade data emphasizes Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan’s close economic relations. Both nations are key economic partners for one another, and their trade connections are projected to strengthen in the next few years.
