Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Sätqaliev said on Wednesday that Kazakhstan plans to start transporting gas from Russia to Uzbekistan only at the end of October and not on October 1, as planned.
“Repair work on the gas pipeline is still underway, and agreement on gas quantities is still being implemented,” the Kazakh Minister of Energy explained.
“Repair work is being completed on the territory of Kazakhstan, with the allocation of a separate line for measuring gas and the operation of works related to the possibility of ensuring transit,” Sätqaliev added.
“Quantities of gas are still being agreed upon, and Kazakhstan will be able to announce them as soon as the request is received,” the Kazakh Energy Minister said.
