The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan holds more than 50 tons of gold, according to Akylbek Japarov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers.
“President Sadyr Japarov has treated Kyrgyzstan’s economy from cancer by keeping the Kumtor in foreign hands,” Japarov said.
“For 28 years, almost 410 tons of gold from the Kumtor mine were exported from Kyrgyzstan. There isn’t a single gram of gold left in Kyrgyzstan,” he added.
“Thanks to the authorities’ good intentions, more than 50 tons of gold are currently stored at the National Bank. This maintains the country’s financial stability,” Japarov said.
