The central banks of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan intend to create a new accessible money transfer system, according to Uzbekistan’s Central Bank.
A regional meeting on the development of payment systems of the national banks of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan was held in Astana.
The parties discussed the development of the payment sector and the main trends.
The issues of the integration of accelerated payment systems in the participating countries were also considered, so that cross-border money transfers could be carried out in this context in the future.
In addition, representatives of the countries exchanged views on their experiences and identified further steps to expand cooperation in the development of national payment infrastructure.
