Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy has prepared a draft order to ban the export of liquefied natural gas (LPG) for three years.
“A ban to be imposed on the export of liquefied natural gas, propane, and butane from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan for three years by road and for six months by rail,” the draft document showed.
The restriction does not apply to exports made under a production sharing agreement (contract) or a subsoil usage contract.
“The draft bill was developed in order to supply the domestic market of the Republic of Kazakhstan with liquefied natural gas,” the explanatory note showed.
