Kyrgyzstan’s National Statistical Committee First Deputy Chairperson Nazira Kerimalieva announced that the gross domestic product (GDP) in January–September 2023 amounted to 808 billion soms.
The GDP of Kyrgyzstan increased by 4.2% compared to the same period in 2022, and the volume of industrial production for the reporting period amounted to 331 billion and 453.5 million soums.
The growth in industrial production compared to January-September last year was provided by an increase in the volume of pharmaceutical products (by 70.6%), rubber, plastic products, and building materials (by 49.4%), chemical products (by 34.9%), the production of textiles, clothing, footwear, leather, and leather products (by 33.7%), wood and paper products (by 22.9%), refined petroleum products (by 4.7%), food products (including beverages), and tobacco products (by 2%), as well as mining (by 3.8%).
At the same time, there was a decrease in the production of base metals by 13.2%.
