Boeing and Emirates are reportedly close to a major order of 777 X wide-body aircraft, according to “Bloomberg,” in a move that will provide a significant boost to a program that is years overdue.
“Emirates, already the largest buyer of wide-body aircraft, is preparing to order dozens of Boeing 777 X aircraft. As part of the deal, the regional company FlyDubai could acquire smaller 787 Dreamliners,” according to “Bloomberg,” citing sources familiar with the negotiation.
The Dubai-based Emirates company is among the largest operators of wide-body aircraft and uses its Dubai hub as a global airport connecting the United States, Europe, and Asia.
The launch of the Dubai Airshow on Monday will provide a platform to announce major deals as airlines rush to renovate and modernize their fleets.
