Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Industry and Construction has agreed to prolong the ban on road exports of practically all coal kinds for another six months.
This decision, announced in a statement by Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Industry and Construction, was first hinted at in mid-October.
The major goal, as stated in the order’s explanatory note, is to assure the supply of coal to the people and the public sector while also ensuring the nation’s energy security during the preparation and advancement of the heating season.
The ban particularly restricts the export of hard coal, lignite, and brown coal until the end of May 2024.
It is worth noting that this restriction excludes two forms of solid fuel: agglomerated coal, which is used as a water purification filter, and jet, which is used as a decorative stone.
