Tajikistan’s parliament approved the republic’s 2024 budget of 43 billion somoni, about 6 billion somoni more than the current year’s plan.
Tajikistan increased expenditure on the education sector in 2024 by 1 billion somoni to 8.2 billion, as this provision was emphasized in next year’s Tajikistan Budget Law, which was approved by the Parliament.
The health-care sector remains one of the priority areas of Tajikistan’s social policy, and next year’s expenditure is estimated at 3.5 billion somoni.
5.5 billion somonis were allocated to the population’s social insurance and social protection. The sector’s expenditure rose by 635 million somonis, or 13%.
Total expenditure in culture and sport is $1.7 billion, or approximately 15%.
Overall, Tajikistan’s expenditure is expected to be $1 billion higher than expected next year.
