Tajik President Emomali Rahmon said that Tajikistan is going to double the production of “green energy” and further implement the strategy of expanding the green economy by attracting more investment.
“One of the ways to solve the problems related to climate change is to develop a “green economy,” which in turn requires the development of green energy,” the Tajik President explained.
“Currently, 98% of our country’s electricity is produced from renewable sources of green energy in hydropower plants,” he added.
“The Republic, which ranks sixth in the world according to this indicator, is also in a positive position due to the small share of greenhouse waste, and with the current opportunities, it is working to increase the production of green energy,” the Tajik President explained.
“The construction of power facilities, especially water, solar, and wind plants, is a useful measure in this direction. However, it was difficult for Tajikistan to implement the “green economy” strategy with only budget funds, and he called for investment in that direction,” Emomali Rahmon said.
“Undoubtedly, no country, regardless of its capabilities, can succeed in adapting to the consequences of climate change on its own,” Rahmon added.
