Tajikistan ranked second in wheat imports from Kazakhstan, as the republic imported 404 thousand tons of wheat from the neighboring country, an increase of 12% over last year.
According to Kazakhstan’s National Statistics Office, Kazakh grain exports increased by 24%, and during the period from January to October 2023, 3.8 million tons of wheat worth $1 billion were exported from the country to foreign markets.
“2 million 726 thousand tons of wheat were exported to the CIS countries; the largest volume went to Uzbekistan (1 million 976 thousand tons), an increase of 40%. Turkmenistan is in third place with 230 thousand tons, an increase of 19%,” according to Kazakhstan’s National Statistics Office.
But wheat was supplied to some countries with a significant decrease in volume: Azerbaijan: 104 thousand (14% less), Russia: 9.9 thousand tons, a decrease of up to 62%, and Kyrgyzstan: 1 thousand tons, a decrease of 56%. .
As for the rest of the world, the largest markets during this period were in Afghanistan, China, Italy, and Turkey.
