Hamid Mohammed bin Salem, Secretary-General of the Federation of United Arab Emirates Chambers, discussed the work plan and membership requirements for the UAE-Japan Business Council, which was established in July 2023, during his meeting with the General Manager of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in Dubai and the Middle East, as well as the accompanying delegation, in the presence of Ahmed Juma Al-Qaisi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Chamber Federation
During the meeting, the two parties discussed areas of cooperation in the business, technology, health, education, and investment sectors between the public and private sectors in both countries.
Hamid bin Salem clarified that the message of the UAE Chambers and Business Union aims to make efforts to achieve the aspirations and goals of the Joint Business Council in activating trade exchange and investment cooperation between the two countries. He added that UAE-Japanese relations have witnessed significant development in various commercial fields, including the establishment of the UAE-Japan Joint Business Council, which will contribute greatly to the development of bilateral trade relations.
This will be achieved through membership that will be open to all sectors operating in both countries, enhancing investment and trade and focusing on building a strategic relationship that emphasizes deepening channels of dialogue, cooperation, and intensifying joint investments for technology transfer and Japanese inventions and discoveries investments.
The Japanese private sector was encouraged to seize the investment opportunities available in the United Arab Emirates, particularly those focused on tourism, space, healthcare, oil, gas, mining, energy generation, and industrial projects.
