According to the Dubai media office, DP World of the UAE has entered into memoranda of understanding valued at $3 billion with the government of Gujarat state in India.
According to the statement, the MOUs include agreements for the creation of fresh ports, terminals, and economic zones within the Indian state.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, attended the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in India on Wednesday as the special guest.
The three-day summit taking place in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is being attended by a large number of heads of state, government officials, individuals in positions of power, as well as business and finance experts from various countries.
In his speech at the summit, Sheikh Mohammed expressed gratitude towards the Indian Prime Minister for the invitation and praised him for the 20th anniversary of the summit.
The President of UAE acknowledged that the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, initiated by Modi, has evolved into a significant global platform for sharing knowledge in terms of economic development and investment.
Speaking to the participants of the summit, Sheikh Mohamed expressed his delight in being able to join individuals from India and all over the world. He emphasized the importance of working together to explore ways to achieve growth and success for our communities and countries.
He conveyed his heartfelt desires for the successful summit to achieve a favorable result that promotes cooperation, growth, and prosperity for all parties involved.
In a summit speech, Prime Minister Modi expressed that India possesses a large pool of highly skilled young individuals, serves as a center for technological innovations, and operates as a functioning democracy.
He further mentioned that the country is steadily progressing towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy within a short span of time.
Modi expressed that despite global geopolitical challenges, India’s economy has displayed strength and progress. He welcomed investors to join India’s path of growth, assuring them that his determination will match their ambitions.
