Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates and the ruler of Abu Dhabi, issued a law to establish the Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council.
The council will be responsible for developing and implementing policies and strategies related to technologies, investments, and research in artificial intelligence and advanced technology in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The decision to appoint Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan as the president of the council and Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as the vice president was issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The council consists of four members, including His Excellency Khalid Khalifa Al Mubarak, His Excellency Jassim Mohammed Buattaiba Al Zaabi, His Excellency Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai, and Mr. Bing Xiaowen.
The establishment of the council comes as a belief in the importance of technological innovation in building the economy of the future. It also complements Abu Dhabi’s strategy to make the emirate an attractive center for investments, partnerships, and exceptional competencies in the sector.
The council will develop financial, investment, and research plans and programs with local and international partners to enhance Abu Dhabi’s position in the field of artificial intelligence and advanced technology.
The law has been issued to establish the Council for Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his wise directives to focus on future sectors and advanced technology.
The council will contribute to enhancing and ensuring the progress and prosperity of the post-oil and hydrocarbon economy.
