Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, said on Monday that every country needs to have its own AI infrastructure in order to benefit from economic opportunities while protecting its own culture at the same time.
Huang added at the World Government Summit held in Dubai, “You can’t allow others to do it.”
Huang, who was interviewed by Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, said that his company is working on “democratizing access” to AI because of the rapid gains resulting from AI computing efficiency.
He continued, “The rest is really up to you to take the initiative, activate your industry, and build infrastructure as quickly as possible.”
He explained that concerns about the risks of AI are exaggerated, pointing out that other new technologies and industries like cars and aviation have successfully implemented regulations.
He continued, “There are some interests in scaring people from this new technology, in mystifying this technology, and in encouraging others not to do anything about this technology and relying on them to do so. I think that is wrong.”
