Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister of the UAE, stated today on the social media platform X that the non-oil foreign trade volume of the UAE reached a record level of 3.5 trillion dirhams (952.93 billion dollars) in 2023.
He added that “this record number comes despite the global decline in international trade movement according to reports from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.”
It was pointed out that the UAE signed comprehensive partnership agreements in 2023, leading to a 26% increase in its foreign trade with its top ten trading partners, and over 103% with Turkey.
As UAE’s trade surged in 2023, it increased by 47% with Hong Kong-China and by 20% with the United States, all within just one year.
