Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal called on Monday for “finding a permanent solution to government policy rules regarding food stocks,” saying, “This is necessary to reduce global hunger by 2030.”
Joyal stated in a recorded statement, published on the website of the World Trade Organization during the organization’s meetings in Abu Dhabi, that “finding a permanent solution regarding public stockholding is still an item on the agenda that has not been completed and we must implement it.”
He added that “the organization should not negotiate on issues unrelated to trade, such as climate change, gender, or labor.”
