Acwa Power signs solar project in Uzbekistan

Acwa Power Saudi Arabia, which specializes in the operation of water plants, renewable and clean energy generation, and green hydrogen globally, has signed the engineering, procurement and construction contract for the Tashkent Solar Project in Uzbekistan.

Saudi Arabia announced the signing of the new contract with Energy China International for the Tashkent Solar Project in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent.

The project’s energy purchase agreement was signed in March 2023 between ACWA Power Saudi Arabia and the National Electricity Grid of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade.

The new solar project in Uzbekistan, implemented by ACWA Power Saudi Arabia, is set to fulfil the State’s ambitious goals of transforming into a low-carbon economy, as well as diversifying energy sources.

The Tashkent Solar Project in Uzbekistan is to provide the State with regulated and sustainable energy, within the parties’ commitment to the development of sustainable energy solutions.
