The Saudi Chambers of Commerce and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry have signed a partnership agreement “Manafe’a” to transform the holy cities of Mecca and Medina into a global platform for investment and international events, leveraging their prestigious religious and economic status in the Islamic world.
The signing ceremony took place during the Makkah Halal Forum, with the presence of the Minister of Commerce, Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi.
The Secretary-General of the Union, Walid Al-Areenan, signed on behalf of the Union, while the Secretary-General of the Islamic Chamber, Youssef Khalawi, signed on behalf of the Chamber.
Through this agreement, the Chamber Federation represents the Saudi private sector and the commercial chambers in a partnership of benefits, aiming to achieve its strategic goals and objectives.
This is done by utilizing its business networks, platforms, and local and international relationships, as well as providing the necessary support for the success of the partnership.
The partnership aims to leverage the sacred status of the cities of Mecca and Medina on a global level, attract economic activities, and provide opportunities to enhance the investment environment. It also aims to support and achieve the targets of Vision 2030 in serving Hajj pilgrims and Umrah performers. This will be accomplished through various avenues, including forums, workshops, lectures, training programs, studies, reports, business leader discussions, decision-maker dialogues, trade delegations, and Islamic art and culture.
The partnership includes the Saudi Chambers Union, the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as the Chambers of Commerce in Makkah, Madinah, Taif, and Jeddah.
