The Government of Bangladesh intends to purchase LNG from Perents Acal in Kuala Lumpur in accordance with a 15-year agreement, according to Taj Islam Majumder, general manager of Petropangla Natural Gas.
The Bloomberg news agency reported that Bernets would supply Petropangla with about 1 million to 1.5 million tons of LNG.
Majumder explained that the agreement would allow Bangladesh to pay within 90 days after receiving the shipment.
He added that Petropangla was still in discussions with the Malaysian company about prices and start-up dates.
He noted that Petropangla had obtained the initial approval of this agreement from the Council of Ministers’ Economic Affairs Committee.
