A new report by the Korean Association of Automobile Manufacturers (KAMA) reveals that China has achieved a 3.7 percentage point rise from 15.8% to 19.5%, ranking third for the first time ahead of U.S. cars in the past year 2022.
Europe came in first place as the largest share in the global auto market in 2022, with 25.8%, maintaining the lead despite a 1.8 percentage point drop compared to 2021, according to South Korean news agency Yonhap.
Japan’s car share fell from 27.2% to 25.3%, ranking second globally.
South Korea was in fifth place after Europe, Japan, China and the United States.
South Korea’s share in the global auto market fell slightly to 7.3% last year.
According to the report of the Korean Automobile Manufacturers Association (KAMA), South Korea’s vehicle share in 8 major markets fell from 7.7% in 2021 to 7.3% in 2022.
