Data from the Chinese Association of Automobile Manufacturers showed that the automotive manufacturing sector recorded steady growth in terms of production, revenue and profits during the first half of this year.
The Chinese news agency Xinhua quoted the Chinese Association on Sunday that the Industrial added value of this sector increased by 13.1 percent year-on-year during the first half of this year, and the growth rate was 8.9 percentage points higher than the growth rate of the entire manufacturing industry in the country.
The data showed that the combined business revenues of companies in this sector also increased by 13.1 percent, year-on-year, to 4.49 trillion yuan (625.45 billion U.S. dollars).
During the same period, these companies achieved a total profit of 217.63 billion yuan, an increase of 10.1 percent from the same period last year.
