China’s digital economy grew 10.3% to 50.2 trillion yuan (about US $7.25 trillion) in 2022, ranking second in the world, a new report said on Friday.
China’s share of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) rose to 41.5%, according to the industry report.
The report, reported by Chinese news agency Xinhua, said that by the end of 2022, China had put 2.31 million 5G base stations in operation, with 561 million 5G users in the country, accounting for more than 60% of the world’s total.
China’s 6th Digital Summit opened in Fuzhou, Fujian province, eastern China.
The two-day summit focuses on showcasing China’s latest digital initiative achievements and on sharing experiences in digital development.
