According to official data released by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the size of China’s high-visibility video industry exceeded 3 trillion yuan by the end of 2022.
The Ministry’s Chinese Centre for Information Industry Development said the size of the industry in Guangdong Province, southern China, recorded 600 billion yuan.
China currently has eight 4K broadcasting channels and two 8K broadcasting channels, which have helped to expand the sector, and has developed and manufactured key products including 8K cameras, 8K screens and 8K image sensors.
The Center continued that the development of the sector can focus more on audio and video systems in homes and cars, telecommunications conference systems, online streaming systems, and commercial display systems.
China agreed last November to establish three new national centres for industrial innovation to care for graphene industries, virtual reality, and ultra-clear videos, respectively.
