Chinese authorities recorded China’s international trade in goods and services up 7% year-on-year during April to nearly 3.67 trillion yuan.
According to data published by the Chinese Foreign Exchange Administration, the surplus recorded some 276.1 billion yuan in April, up 3 per cent year on year.
According to Chinese media, the surplus in merchandise trade was 392.3 billion yuan, the highest monthly level in 2023.
This comes as China welcomes the entry of more quality products from Central Asia into its market, while strengthening cooperation between China and Asian countries.
“While Chinese companies are encouraging stores in Central Asian countries, China is opening its e-commerce platforms to Central Asian companies,” Xu Jiweih Ting, a spokeswoman for China’s Ministry of Commerce, said at a conference.
