China’s net gold imports across Hong Kong fell by 29% over June, reaching five-month lows, reflecting a slow economic recovery in the world’s largest metal consumer.
China’s imports during June came in at 34,648 metric tons, compared with 49,056 metric tons in May 2023.
China’s total gold imports across Hong Kong fell 26% to 38.395 metric tons, according to official data.
As data showed last week, Swiss gold exports to China also fell by a third in June 2023.
