Data centers are essential for the success of institutions and companies, as they are used for storing important data and running applications.
Kazakhstan, which is considered one of the largest economies in Central Asia, has witnessed significant growth in its data center sector. This can be attributed to the increasing demand for computing resources solutions and technologies, progressive and changing government policies, and advancements in artificial intelligence.
It is expected that the data center market in the Republic of Kazakhstan will experience an annual growth of 6.83% between the years 2024 and 2028, resulting in a market size of $416.7 million.
The memorandum of understanding aims to enhance effective cooperation and develop bilateral relationships between institutions in both the public and private sectors. It proposes providing competitive incentives to support relevant initiatives and facilitating the exchange of experiences and knowledge.
Mohammed Hassan Al Suwaidi stated, “The memorandum of understanding embodies our commitment to enhancing bilateral relations between our two countries and working together to achieve our common vision in the economic development sector.
The planned investments in data centers and artificial intelligence projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan will contribute to strengthening its growing digital infrastructure, enabling companies to further embrace and benefit from digitization.”
On his part, Mr. Nurulan Jakiyev, the CEO of “Samrok Casino”, stated that the establishment and growth of data centers are crucial for achieving technological progress in the Republic of Kazakhstan. They serve as the driving force behind innovation and economic development, positioning the country at the forefront of the global digital landscape.
The strategic development of data centers enhances local capabilities and provides a conducive environment for attracting foreign investment, supporting our efforts to make Kazakhstan a destination for global companies seeking a strong technological infrastructure.
It is worth mentioning that Kazakhstan’s exports to the United Arab Emirates reached 560.34 million US dollars during the year 2022, while the UAE’s exports to Kazakhstan amounted to approximately 1.69 billion dollars.
