Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister, Murat Nurtleu, and his Emirati counterpart, Abdullah bin Zayed, agreed to increase the volume of trade between the two countries to $1 billion.
“At the meeting, special emphasis was placed on supporting investment and technological cooperation that has evolved in recent years, as well as on building trade and economic relations,” according to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement.
The parties agreed to make the most of the capacity available to achieve a trade volume of up to $1 billion.
“To achieve this end, direct flights must be opened between the two countries’ capitals. Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates will explore the possibility of direct flights from Etihad Airways and Air Arabia,” the statement added.
During the discussion of bilateral cooperation, Nurtleu stressed that the UAE is Kazakhstan’s most important partner in the region and that our two countries have traditional fraternal relations.
