Dubai International Airport topped the global airports in terms of total seat capacity on international and domestic flights combined in February 2024, for the second consecutive month, according to a report by “OAG”, a specialized aviation data institution.
The report pointed out that Dubai International Airport recorded around 4.73 million scheduled seats on departing flights during February, exceeding “Hartsfield-Atlanta” by more than 245,000 scheduled seats, which recorded 4.48 million seats.
The data showed that the total number of scheduled seats on flights through Dubai International Airport in February reached over 4.73 million seats, ranking it first globally and rising three places in the list of largest airports compared to 2019 levels.
According to the monthly report, Tokyo International Airport “Haneda” ranked third globally in terms of total seat capacity with 4.21 million seats, followed by Guangzhou International Airport with around 4.17 million scheduled seats, and Shanghai Airport in fifth place with 3.9 million scheduled seats.
