The head of the administration of the National Oilseeds Association (NOPA), Yadekar Ibragimov, said Kazakhstan doubled its exports of vegetable oils to the European Union over the past year 2022.
In 2022, Kazakhstan exported about 75,530 tons of vegetable oils to the European Union, a growth of 91% over 2021, Ibragimov added.
In monetary terms, exports of oil products and fat increased by 118% to $32 million, according to local media.
In total, Kazakhstan exported about 589 thousand vegetable oils over the past year, increasing by 78% on an annual basis.
Latvia is the largest purchaser of Kazakh vegetable oils, with about 33.3 thousand tons, followed by Denmark with a total import of 35 thousand tons.
