Foreign direct investment in actual use on the Chinese mainland reached 919.97 billion yuan (about 128 billion dollars ) during the first nine months of this year, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said on Friday.
According to the Chinese news agency “Xinhua”, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce confirmed this figure represents a decrease of 8.4 percent compared to the same period last year.
She added that the period witnessed the establishment of 37,814 new companies with foreign investments across the country, an increase of 32.4 percent year-on-year.
She explained that foreign direct investment in the manufacturing sector increased by 2.4 percent year-on-year, with foreign direct investment in high-tech manufacturing rising by 12.8 percent.
Data released by the ministry revealed that foreign direct investment from France, the United Kingdom and Canada increased during that period by 121.7 percent, 116.9 percent and 109.2 percent, respectively.
