Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications announced that the country’s consumer price index rose by 3.2 per cent in March on an annual basis.
This ratio is in line with expectations. Monthly inflation rose by 0.4 per cent, exceeding expectations by 0.1 per cent, following a 0.6 per cent decline in the previous month.
The main CPI excluding volatile food prices rose 3.1 per cent year-on-year, matching expectations and equalling February’s rise.
The main monthly index rose by 0.5 per cent in March, in line with expectations, from 0.4 per cent in the previous month.
